Reality Check

A browser-side responsible-gaming timer: it fires a Due signal every set number of minutes of play and keeps session totals of bets, wins and net position for the dialog copy. It runs only in the browser and is never compiled to the RGS.

Fire Start when the play session begins. A one-second timer then drives Session Seconds and Elapsed Minutes (whole minutes), measured from the wall clock so drift does not accumulate. Once Interval (minutes) have passed, Due fires once and the node waits: nothing fires again until you send Acknowledge, which times the next interval from the moment the player dismissed the dialog. Interval (minutes) defaults to 60; 0 disables the check.

On every round set Bet and fire Bet Placed, then set Win and fire Win Paid. Total Bet and Total Win accumulate, and Net Position is totalWin - totalBet, so it is negative while the player is down. Amounts stay in whatever unit you feed in; the platform uses integer minor units. Totals count whether or not the clock is running, and Start zeroes them along with the clock and Checks Shown.

Stop halts the timer and leaves every output at its last value for a session summary; there is no resume, so Start always begins a fresh session from zero. State lives in the page: a reload starts over. Changing Interval (minutes) mid-session applies on the next tick. The timer is cleared on Stop and when the node is deleted.

The cadence a regulated market mandates is the operator's to configure: it is set on the operator's jurisdiction profile in the RGS and reaches the game through Jurisdiction Rules realityCheckIntervalMin. The RGS hands out that number but never shows or enforces the dialog; showing it, and acknowledging it, is this node's and your UI's job. See the Slot Features guide.

Inputs

Settings

DataDescription
Interval (minutes) (number)Minutes of play between checks. Default 60; 0 disables the check. Wire it from Jurisdiction Rules realityCheckIntervalMin in regulated markets.

Actions

SignalDescription
StartStarts a fresh session: zeroes the clock, the totals and Checks Shown, then counts every second. Firing it again restarts from zero.
AcknowledgeThe player dismissed the dialog: clears the pending check and times the next interval from now. Ignored when no check is due.
StopHalts the timer; every output keeps its last value. There is no resume: Start begins a new session.

Round Data

DataDescription
Bet (number)Stake of the current round, in your unit (the platform uses integer minor units). Default 0. Set it before Bet Placed.
Win (number)Amount paid for the current round, same unit as Bet. Default 0. Set it before Win Paid.
SignalDescription
Bet PlacedAdds Bet to Total Bet. Counts whether or not the clock is running.
Win PaidAdds Win to Total Win.

Outputs

Signals

SignalDescription
DueFires once when an interval has elapsed and no earlier check awaits Acknowledge. Show the reality-check dialog on it.

Clock

DataDescription
Elapsed Minutes (number)Whole minutes since Start (Session Seconds divided by 60, rounded down). Updates every second while running.
Session Seconds (number)Seconds since Start, measured from the wall clock; frozen after Stop.

Totals

DataDescription
Total Bet (number)Sum of every Bet Placed amount since Start, in your unit.
Total Win (number)Sum of every Win Paid amount since Start, in your unit.
Net Position (number)Total Win minus Total Bet; negative while the player is down. Use it in the dialog copy.

State

DataDescription
Checks Shown (number)How many times Due has fired this session.
Running (boolean)true between Start and Stop.

Usage

  1. Wire your game-start event to Start.
  2. Wire Jurisdiction Rules realityCheckIntervalMin (or your own number) to Interval (minutes).
  3. On each bet, set Bet and fire Bet Placed.
  4. On each payout, set Win and fire Win Paid.
  5. On Due, show the reality-check dialog with Elapsed Minutes, Total Bet, Total Win and Net Position.
  6. On Due, also stop Autoplay so no round starts behind the dialog.
  7. Wire the dialog's dismiss button to Acknowledge.
  8. Fire Stop when the player leaves and read the totals for the session summary.
caution

0 on Interval (minutes) disables the check, and Jurisdiction Rules outputs 0 when the market mandates no reality check, including the platform's DEFAULT profile. A direct wire therefore switches the check off in those markets. To always show one, pass the value through Max with your own minimum first.
