Spins only the free columns of a reel grid, so hold-and-win respins, locked reels and sticky rounds leave the other columns untouched. Browser only; it drives Reel Column nodes directly and never reaches the RGS.
A Pixi Reel Controller spins every column it owns on each Spin. For a respin that must leave some columns standing, wire the Reel Column nodes to this node instead: Spin 0 to Spin 11 (spin0 to spin11) into each column's Spin, Stop 0 to Stop 11 (stop0 to stop11) into its Stop, Target 0 to Target 11 (target0 to target11) into its Target Symbols, and Stop Pos 0 to Stop Pos 11 (stopPos0 to stopPos11) into its Stop Position.
Set Free Columns (empty = all) to the indices that may spin (Locked Reels, Hold And Win Grid and Sticky Symbols produce such lists; an array or a comma string both parse) and fire Spin. Only the free columns below Column Count (default 5, at most 12) receive their Spin N; Locked Columns (lockedColumns) lists the rest, and Routed (routed) fires after the fan-out.
When the result is in, set Target Symbols (grid) to the full grid as reels[col][row] and Stop Positions to one stop index per column, then fire Stop. For each free column the node first publishes that column's own symbols on Target N and its stop index on Stop Pos N, then fires Stop N, so the column has its landing data when it stops. Locked columns receive nothing and keep their symbols. Stop uses the free set of the last Spin (the current setting if none has fired); Routed fires again.
On the column, Target Symbols wins row by row; Stop Position is used with the column's own Reel Strip for rows the target array does not cover, and a column with neither warns once and keeps the symbol it was showing. Each column still needs its Symbol Images, and a Reel Strip if you rely on stop positions, from the controller that lays out the grid or wired directly.
A column ignores Stop while it is not spinning and Spin while it is, so fire Spin, wait for the result, then fire Stop. There is no minimum spin time or stagger here: every free column gets its Stop N in the same update, so put a Delay upstream if you want a stagger. Nothing here tells the game when the free columns have settled; pair the node with Reel Stop Watcher, armed before Spin with the same free columns.
Actions
| Signal | Description |
|---|
| Spin | Fires Spin N for each free column and updates Locked Columns; a Free Columns value set in the same update is used. |
| Stop | Publishes Target N and Stop Pos N for each free column of the last Spin, then fires its Stop N. |
Routing
| Data | Description |
|---|
| Free Columns (empty = all) (array) | Indices allowed to spin, as an array or a comma string; empty = every column below Column Count. |
| Column Count (number) | Width of the grid, 1..12. Default 5. |
Result
| Data | Description |
|---|
| Target Symbols (grid) (array) | The full result grid as reels[col][row]; each free column receives its own column of symbols on Target N. |
| Stop Positions (array) | One stop index per column; each free column receives its own on Stop Pos N. Missing values become 0. |
Outputs
The compiled node inventory does not list these ports, because the node builds them in a loop; they are real and appear in the editor.
Spin Signals
| Signal | Description |
|---|
| Spin 0 to Spin 11 | Fires on Spin for each free column; wire each to its Reel Column Spin. |
Stop Signals
| Signal | Description |
|---|
| Stop 0 to Stop 11 | Fires on Stop for each free column, after its target and stop position are published; wire each to its Reel Column Stop. |
Targets
| Data | Description |
|---|
| Target 0 to Target 11 (array) | That column's symbols out of Target Symbols (grid); wire each to its Reel Column Target Symbols. |
Stop Positions
| Data | Description |
|---|
| Stop Pos 0 to Stop Pos 11 (number) | That column's entry of Stop Positions; wire each to its Reel Column Stop Position. Missing values become 0. |
State
| Data | Description |
|---|
| Locked Columns (array) | Indices below Column Count that were not in the free set of the last Spin. |
Signals
| Signal | Description |
|---|
| Routed | Fires after each Spin and Stop fan-out. |
Usage
- Wire every Reel Column's Spin, Stop, Target Symbols and Stop Position to the matching Spin N, Stop N, Target N and Stop Pos N.
- Set Column Count to the grid width and wire the free-column list from Hold And Win Grid or Locked Reels into Free Columns.
- Arm a Reel Stop Watcher with the same free columns, then fire Spin.
- When the maths result arrives, set Target Symbols (grid) and Stop Positions, then fire Stop.
- Continue the round from the watcher's All Stopped.
A Pixi Reel Controller spins every column it owns, so do not fire its Spin for a routed round. Keep the controller for layout and symbol images only, or wire those to each column directly.
