AI Image Editor — User Guide

The AI Image Editor is a powerful design and creation tool built into XGENIA. Use it to generate images, video, and audio with AI, compose them on a canvas, and refine them with inpainting and layer tools.

Opening the Image Editor

  1. In the XGENIA editor, look at the left sidebar.
  2. Click the AI Image Editor icon (image icon) to open the panel.

Bottom Prompt Bar

The main input area for AI generation:

  • Prompt field — Describe what you want to generate
  • Creation type — Image, Video, or Audio
  • Model picker — Choose the AI model (or open Model Hub)
  • Settings — Aspect ratio, image count, color palette (when supported)
  • Generate — Start generation

Before You Start: API Key Setup

AI features need a FAL API key:

  1. Get a key at fal.ai.
  2. Open Project Settings (or AI Provider Settings in the Chat panel).
  3. Add your FAL API key.
  4. Save and verify the key if prompted.

Without the key, AI generation will not work.

Creating Content

Generate an Image

  1. Open the AI Image Editor.
  2. Choose Image as the creation type in the bottom bar.
  3. Click the model name to pick a model (e.g. Flux Dev, Recraft V3), or open Model Hub for more.
  4. Type a description in the prompt (e.g. "A sunset over mountains, digital art style").
  5. Adjust Aspect ratio or Image count if the model supports it.
  6. Click Generate.

The result appears on the canvas. You can generate more and build up multiple items.

Generate Video or Audio

  1. In the bottom bar, select Video or Audio as the creation type.
  2. Pick the appropriate model (e.g. Kling for video).
  3. Enter your prompt.
  4. Adjust any model-specific options.
  5. Click Generate.

Add References (Image-to-Image)

Some models accept reference images:

  1. Before generating, add one or more reference images in the reference slots next to the prompt.
  2. Write your prompt.
  3. Generate. The AI will use the references to guide the result.

Editing with Inpainting

Inpainting changes specific regions of an image using AI.

  1. Select an image on the canvas.
  2. Pick Brush (B) or Eraser (E).
  3. Paint the area to change — where you paint is where the model edits.
  4. In the right sidebar, choose the Inpainting model.
  5. Type your edit instruction in the prompt bar (e.g. "Make this area blue").
  6. Click Apply Edit or Generate.

Use Clear mask in the right sidebar to remove the mask and start over.

Working with Layers

  • The right sidebar lists layers for the active frame.
  • Layers are ordered from bottom to top (top layers draw over lower ones).
  • Click a layer to select it.

Reordering Layers
